How To Draw Characters From Photoshop Into Adobe Character Animator

Animate artwork created in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop using Adobe Character Animator. Apply your webcam to give characters lifelike movement.

In Photoshop, open freda.psd and take a wait at the Layers panel. Each component of the character artwork is placed on a separate layer. If you name the layers to indicate which trunk part they correspond to (breast, head, eyes, mouth), yous can immediately control the character in Adobe Character Animator.

Character Animator captures your facial expressions from your webcam and animates the puppet based on your performance. Position your confront in the circular area of the Camera & Microphone panel. Wait directly at your boob while keeping your facial expression neutral; and so click Set Rest Pose. Red tracking dots will appear around your face up. Try moving your head effectually and talk into your microphone. Use your mouse to drag near the character's limbs to manipulate them.

Click Record in the Scene console and perform your character's movements. Click once again to end the take. Toggle off the various behaviors in the Backdrop panel to record them separately from one some other. This is useful if yous adopt to record Face behaviors separately from Dragger or Lip Sync behaviors.

Play the animation by pressing the spacebar.

Further refine your puppet'southward behaviors by irresolute the scale and other puppet backdrop, or even add together another puppet to the scene.

The puppet's facial expressions match the man's in the webcam video. Different behaviors are recorded and played back.

When you're finished animative, select the scene in the Project panel and adapt the scene's elapsing in the Properties console. Yous now have ii options for bringing your grapheme into Adobe After Effects:

  • Use Dynamic Link: Launch Later on Effects. Drag the scene from the Project panel in Character Animator to the Project panel in After Effects and and so right-click it and select New Comp from Selection.
